Despite the huge challenges of the pandemic, a quarter of a million people in Scotland have either set up or were running a new business in 2020, a recent survey has revealed.
This means that just over 7% of the Scottish population (247,000 adults), were actively engaged in setting up a business or are already running an enterprise which had been established in the last three and a half years. Over and above that, there are a further 194,000 entrepreneurs running more established businesses in Scotland.
During a global health crisis, it is wonderfully encouraging that so many individuals were either engaged in creating a new business venture or are now running one. These entrepreneurs will undoubtedly help to drive Scotland’s economy forward as we come out of the pandemic, helping to both build a stronger economy and job creation as a result.
