Small but perfectly formed

If you are part of the major growth of business start-ups in Scotland, you might want to consider a tailor-made business support service that is just as unique as your business venture.
Despite the huge challenges of the pandemic, a quarter of a million people in Scotland have either set up or were running a new business in 2020, a recent survey has revealed.
This means that just over 7% of the Scottish population (247,000 adults), were actively engaged in setting up a business or are already running an enterprise which had been established in the last three and a half years. Over and above that, there are a further 194,000 entrepreneurs running more established businesses in Scotland.
During a global health crisis, it is wonderfully encouraging that so many individuals were either engaged in creating a new business venture or are now running one. These entrepreneurs will undoubtedly help to drive Scotland’s economy forward as we come out of the pandemic, helping to both build a stronger economy and job creation as a result.
Tailor made support for you and your business
But whilst you may have a wonderful business idea, have carried out extensive market research and have a fully formed business plan, something which many people find daunting, are the challenges of setting up and running a business. As a specialist employment lawyer, and as someone with a wealth of experience in running a business, I can help. Before you jump into a one size fits all package of employment law and business support coverage, I would recommend that you stop and think about a much more tailored and personal approach for your business.
Every business is totally unique and because of that every business needs a unique service which is tailored to their individual needs. Rather than simply buy a ready-made package of benefits and coverage, some of which you might never need, I prefer to sit down with new business owners and provide them with the help and all the support that they need to get their business started as well as enable them to grow in the future. And I am proud to do this at a very local and personal level, many of my clients have been with me for a long time and I have been with them as their businesses have grown and developed.
I can ensure that you have the proper policies and contracts in place from the beginning and I am here to provide all the help and support that you’ll need in employing and managing people and making sure that you are fully compliant with the law. As well as this, and because I deal with every type and size of business, I have specialist knowledge across a wide range of industry sectors and their unique legal requirements.
Whether you are just starting out with your business venture and you need help in company set up and formation or are already up and running but need help with your contracts, policies and legal obligations as an employer, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me.
My clients know that they have direct access to me as their specialist employment lawyer and that they can contact me at any time for top quality advice and support. It would be a pleasure to have the opportunity to find out more about your exciting new business venture and to discuss how I can provide the tailor-made help and support that you need to make it a real success. Support which allows you to focus on growing your business.
For life and for business
Indeed, many of my clients first came to me for specialist business and employment law services through Borders Employment Law but have gone on to use Burke Legal for a whole range of legal representation. Over the years I have built strong relationships with my clients which means I am there to provide legal solutions in both their business life and in their personal life. From making sure that businesses and employers are compliant with the law to handling delicate family law matters such as divorce, wills and powers of attorney. Whatever the issue and the circumstances, I work hard to find the best solution for every client.
Whether it’s business law or representing the individual, I am well known as a local solicitor who clients know they can come to whenever they need help and advice and indeed many of my clients recommend me to their own friends, family, and professional contacts.
